Play the Piano – Legato

Legato is an Italian term which means to play smoothly and connectedly. Unless you are otherwise directed, always play legato. This is how you do it. Strike your first key. When you strike the next key, you are going to raise the first key up quickly and all the way to create a clean sound. If you hang onto the first note too long you will get a muddy sound. Be careful not to break the legato.
